1. I was a Ginger and Sporty fan
2. I saw Spice World twice in the theater
3. I had a Spice Girls 1998 calendar
4. I remember exactly where I was when MTV News told me Ginger left the group
5. I saw the Spice Girls in concert, just after Ginger left the group
6. I made excuses for their iffy live performances, except Posh (she could not sing)
7. I wrote a song in 8th grade called “Why I Like the Spice Girls and Not Hanson” (which was paired in the chorus with “cause I’d rather be dancing”)
8. A picture I drew of the Spice Girls was published in my freshman yearbook
9. I’m pretty sure the only two CDs in my collection (I kept them organized in the order I bought them) between “Spice” and “Spiceworld” were Oasis’ “Be Here Now” and No Doubt’s “Tragic Kingdom”
10. It was late 1998 before I started losing interest in them (I never owned their third album)
RE: # 4. I grew up without cable television, but distinctly remember my 7th grade science teacher making fun of me for being so distraught over Ginger’s departure.
